Where small-business SEO money is best spent
When budget is tight, order matters. Here's roughly how we prioritize.
1. Your Google Business Profile
For most local businesses, this is the biggest lever and the cheapest one to pull. Right categories, real photos, accurate service areas and a steady flow of genuine reviews. See GBP management.
2. Consistent business details everywhere
Same name, phone and service area across your site, your profile and the main directories. It's dull work that pays off. Our citations guide lists where to start.
3. A page for each service you actually want more of
If you want more bathroom renos and fewer small repairs, the bathroom reno page should be the best page on your site.
4. A site that loads fast and works on a phone
If your site is slow or broken, fixing it may be a better first spend than monthly SEO.
5. Everything else
Blog posts, link outreach and AI-search work come after the foundation is solid, not before.
