THE OPPORTUNITY

Every search has a pressure point.

Plumbing demand is mostly urgent. Someone is standing in water or has no hot water. They search, they call the first name that answers, and they do not read an About page. The site has to put the phone number as selectable text at the top of every page and load nothing decorative before it.

There are three main job types that need their own pages: emergency (burst pipe, sewer backup), diagnostic (why is my toilet running, low pressure), and planned (water heater replacement, repipe). Mixing them on one page loses the emergency call and the higher-margin replacement job.

WARDORX builds the emergency path first. The 14-page fullstack site is free for the first 10 clients if you supply the domain. After that founding is $1,250 and Launch is $2,500. Optional SEO is $1,000 a month after 90 days.

THE STRATEGY / 01

WARDORX / FLOW / DISPATCHDrag to rotate
01

Emergency queries

"Emergency plumber Calgary", "burst pipe who to call", and "sewer backup emergency" are the highest-urgency searches in the trades. Water is causing damage while they search. The page needs to answer "do you come out now" and state the arrival window before anything else. The phone number is text, not an image. The after-hours rate is stated if you charge one.

These searches also hit the map pack hard. Your Google Business Profile primary category is "Plumber". Secondary categories cover drainage and hot water. Recent photos of actual drain and sewer work plus reviews that name the failure ("sewer backup same day") move the pack more than on-page text. Proximity still limits the radius.

02

Diagnostic pages

People search the symptom first: "toilet keeps running", "drain smells like sewage", "low water pressure whole house". A short page that lists the common causes, says which ones are safe to check, and gives the starting price for a diagnostic gets the call on the ones that are not DIY. These pages also build the authority that puts you in front of the emergency searches.

03

Planned work

Water heater replacement is the highest-margin planned job and one of the most searched. The page publishes a cost range for tank versus tankless and the monthly payment if you offer financing. Repipe and backflow testing pages work the same way. Backflow is often searched by property managers, not homeowners, so the page addresses that buyer.

04

Extra pages

Most plumber sites stop at a services page. The pages that move calls are:

  • Emergency plumbing page with nothing but the phone and the dispatch window.
  • Water heater replacement page with published cost bands.
  • Drain and sewer page covering camera inspection and hydro-jetting.
  • Backflow testing and compliance page.
  • Short diagnostic pages for the common symptoms.

Location pages only publish if they have real facts: neighbourhoods you actually serve, response time from your closest depot, photos from jobs in that area, and a testimonial from that area. City-name swaps get filtered.

05

Map pack

The emergency map pack is proximity-dominated. Own the organic results across the metro and the pack near your pin. Review velocity and a correctly set service area expand the radius over time. Profile management is $149 a month with no contract if you want that handled separately.

06

What the build includes

You own the code, domain, analytics, and content from launch day. Hosting is $10 a month. The SEO month adds four location or service pages a month, call tracking, and a report. It does not include profile management or review collection.

07

Seasonality

Freeze-thaw cycles produce a burst-line season. Older neighbourhoods have predictable failure patterns by build era. A page that names what fails in a 1960s build versus a 2005 build has content no national aggregator can copy.

09

Water heater pages in detail

Tank versus tankless is a common comparison. The page lists the typical installed cost range for each, the space requirements, the venting differences, and the expected life. It states that the final price depends on the existing setup and access. Financing is listed as a monthly range if you offer it. The page links to the emergency page for people who have no hot water right now.

10

Sewer and drain

Camera inspection and hydro-jetting are distinct services with their own searches. Most sites bury them under "drain cleaning". A dedicated page shows before-and-after photos where you have them, states the starting price for a camera inspection, and explains when jetting is the right next step. These pages convert well because the person already knows they have a drain problem.

11

Backflow and compliance

Municipalities require backflow testing on a schedule. The buyers are often property managers or commercial accounts. The page states the testing interval, what the report includes, and the price. It is a recurring revenue line most residential plumbers never market.

12

After the first month of SEO

The SEO retainer adds pages that follow the same rules. Four a month. Each one has real local facts or a real service detail. Call tracking shows which ones produce calls. If a page does not produce calls after it is indexed, we change it or remove it.

13

What you need to send

Photos of recent jobs, especially drains, water heaters, and finished work. Your after-hours policy. Dispatch times from your records if you have them. Access to the domain and the Google Business Profile. That is enough to start the build or the SEO month.

Call +1 (250) 344-1619.

14

Dispatch and after-hours policy

The emergency page states the actual policy. If you answer at 2am, it says so and lists the rate. If you do not, it says the next available window. Hiding the policy loses the calls from people who need to know before they dial. We use the policy you already run. We do not invent a 24-hour claim.

15

Photos that help

Before-and-after on drain and sewer work converts. Photos of the truck and the crew help the profile. Stock photos of smiling families do not. We use the photos you send from jobs. If you do not have them yet, the first month of work includes asking for them after each job.

16

Internal linking

The emergency page links to the water heater page for people who are not in an emergency. The diagnostic pages link to the relevant service page. The links use the service name. This structure helps both search and the person who landed on the wrong page.

17

Reporting

The SEO month report shows calls from the site, the pages that received them, and what changed. It does not show a ranking position as the result. You can cancel after the 90-day term with 30 days notice. The site stays yours.

Call +1 (250) 344-1619 or book at https://www.wardorx.com/book. We look at the current site and profile on the call and say what the next step is.

CLEAR ANSWERS

Before you
make the call.

Is it worth publishing DIY fixes?
Yes. The jobs you talk someone out of are usually low margin. The trust is what gets the call on the one that matters.
Do I need a separate page per neighbourhood?
Only if you have real facts for that neighbourhood. Otherwise the page is a liability.
How important is phone number placement?
It is the highest-leverage element on the page. Text, tap-to-call, above the fold, repeated at every scroll depth.
