Google Business Profile management for contractors

The map pack decides most of the calls for a trade business. We manage the profile for $149 a month with no setup fee and no contract.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Be there when they look.

The map pack sits above the blue links for most searches a homeowner makes when they need a plumber, an HVAC tech, or a roofer. Your Google Business Profile is what decides whether your name shows up there. Most contractors already have one. Most of them are incomplete, and almost none of them get updated after the first week.

WARDORX manages the profile for $149 a month per location. No setup fee. Cancel any time. The work is posts, review replies, photo uploads, category and service updates, and Q&A. We do not sell this as a package with a website rebuild or an SEO retainer. You can start here and decide later whether you want more.

THE STRATEGY / 01

WARDORX / LOCAL / SIGNALDrag to rotate
01

What the map pack actually measures

Google ranks the local pack on three things: proximity, relevance, and prominence. Proximity is how close your pin is to the person searching. You cannot change that with content. Relevance is whether your categories, services, and business description match what they typed. Prominence is reviews, photos, posts, and how active the profile looks.

A contractor with the right primary category, a full list of services, recent photos of real jobs, and replies to reviews will outrank a larger company with a neglected profile in the same area. The difference shows up in calls, not in a ranking report.

02

What we do each month

We update the primary and secondary categories if Google has added better ones. We list every service you actually sell, using the names customers search. We post weekly with a photo from a recent job and a short description of the work. We reply to every review inside 24 hours. The reply names the job type so the language matches what people search.

We upload new photos of the truck, the crew, and finished jobs. We seed the Q&A section with the questions customers actually ask on the phone. We check for suggested edits from Google or the public that would change your hours or address, and we correct them.

You get a short monthly note with the number of calls, direction requests, and website clicks from the profile. We do not invent a ranking guarantee. The profile either produces more calls or it does not.

03

Categories and services

The primary category is the single strongest signal. For an HVAC company it is usually "HVAC contractor". Secondary categories cover furnace repair, air conditioning, and heating. Plumbers use "Plumber" plus drainage and hot water. Roofers use "Roofing contractor". Using a category you do not qualify for gets the profile suspended. Using one that is too broad leaves you out of the specific searches.

Services are separate from categories. List every job you take: furnace replacement, panel upgrade, emergency drain cleaning, hail damage repair. Google shows these when someone searches the specific term. A profile that only lists "HVAC services" misses the furnace replacement search.

04

Reviews

Reviews move the pack more than posts do. The text of the review matters. A review that says "they replaced the furnace same day" helps more than one that says "great service". We reply to every review and include the job type in the reply. We do not ask customers to leave five-star reviews with specific keywords. That violates Google's rules and gets profiles suspended.

If you already have a review request process, we work with it. If you do not, we can add a simple text after the job is closed. The message comes from your number.

05

Photos and posts

Photos of the actual work rank better than stock images. A picture of your truck outside a house in winter is more useful than a smiling family. We upload new photos each week. Posts stay live for about a week and then drop. Consistent posting keeps the profile looking active.

06

Setup and recovery

A new profile or a suspended one is a separate job. We charge $349 once. That covers verification, the full category and service setup, the first set of photos, and the initial Q&A. After that you can stop or move to the $149 monthly management. We do not require a monthly commitment to fix a suspension.

Suspensions usually come from keyword stuffing in the business name, using a category you do not qualify for, or too many reviews from the same IP address. We document what caused it and what we changed.

07

Who this is for

This is for a single-location trade business that already has a website or does not need one yet. If your profile is empty or you have not posted in months, this is the first thing to fix. If you are already ranking in the pack and the phone is ringing, the next step is usually the website or the on-site SEO.

We work with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, restoration, landscaping, and the other trades we list on the industries page. The process is the same. The categories and services change.

08

What this does not include

This does not include changes to your website. It does not include citation building across other directories. It does not include a ranking report for organic blue links. If you want those, they are separate. The $149 covers the profile only.

09

Price

$149 a month per profile. No setup fee. No contract. Cancel any time. The one-time setup or recovery is $349. Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST is added on the invoice.

Call +1 (250) 344-1619 or book a 30-minute call at https://www.wardorx.com/book. We will look at the current profile and say whether this is the right next step or whether the site needs work first.

10

How the profile interacts with the website

The profile and the website do different jobs. The profile captures the "near me" and map searches. The website captures the longer research searches and gives the person a place to read details after they tap through. When the services listed on the profile match the pages on the site, Google treats them as the same business. When they do not match, the signals split.

If the site is slow or has no service pages, the profile can still send calls. The website clicks from the profile will be lower. That is normal. Fix the profile first if the phone is the main goal. Fix the site if you want people to book online or read cost ranges before they call.

11

Service areas

For a service-area business with no public storefront, the profile uses a service area instead of a street address. Google still shows the profile for searches inside that area, but proximity is measured from the verified location. Expanding the service area on the profile does not move the pin. It only tells Google which cities you claim to serve. The ranking inside those cities is still limited by how close the pin is and how strong the reviews are.

We set the service area to the municipalities you actually dispatch to. Listing cities you never go to wastes the signal and can look inconsistent with the website.

12

Posts that do not get ignored

A post that says "call us for all your HVAC needs" gets ignored. A post that shows a photo of a furnace replacement finished yesterday, with the neighbourhood named and the type of unit, gets seen. The post text names the job. The photo is from the job. We schedule these weekly so the profile stays current without you having to remember.

13

Review replies that help

A reply that says "thank you for the five stars" does nothing. A reply that says "glad we could get the furnace replaced the same day in northwest Calgary" repeats the language people search. It also shows future customers that you answer. We write the replies. You approve them if you want, or we post them directly.

14

What to send us to start

Access to the Google Business Profile as a manager. A list of the services you sell. Photos of recent jobs if you have them. Your after-hours policy if you have one. That is enough for the first month. We do not need a long onboarding call.

15

Common problems we fix

Business name stuffed with keywords. Primary category set to something too broad. Services list empty. Photos from 2019. Reviews with no replies. Hours wrong on holidays. Suggested edits that changed the phone number. Each of these is a normal finding on a contractor profile that has not been touched in a year.

16

After the first month

Most owners see the first change in the pack within 30 to 60 days if the profile was neglected. The change is usually more calls from a smaller radius, not a sudden city-wide ranking. If the calls do not move, the next place to look is usually the website speed or the service pages. We will say so.

17

Ownership

You keep the profile. We are added as a manager. If you cancel, we remove ourselves. Nothing on the profile switches off. The photos and posts stay.

Call +1 (250) 344-1619 or book at https://www.wardorx.com/book. Bring the profile link. We will tell you on the call whether the $149 month is the right next step.

CLEAR ANSWERS

Before you
make the call.

How long before I see calls from the profile?
Most profiles that were neglected start showing movement in the pack within 30 to 60 days once categories, services, and photos are current. Proximity still limits how far from your pin you rank.
Do I need a website for this?
No. The profile can send calls and direction requests without a website. If you want the website clicks tracked and the service pages ranking, that is separate work.
What if Google suspends the profile?
We handle the recovery as the $349 one-time job. We document the cause and the changes we make.
Can you manage more than one location?
Yes. Each location is $149 a month. The work is the same.
Is this the same as Local Services Ads?
No. Local Services Ads are paid. This is the free profile that appears in the map pack and the organic local results.
